What a long flight! After all the careful planning we accidentally left the hotel at LAX without Sophie's meds! We called and left a message from the plane and asked that they kept it until we return in the frig. - but now we have to hope and pray that Sophie doesn't have a bleed - and then this morning she awoke with a nosebleed - heavy! We managed to get it stopped fairly quickly, but geez!
We also bought some lotion and facial cleanser at a gift shop in the LAX airport AFTER going through security - but upon arriving in Hong Kong - they took it away! Bummer - esp. since Sophie complains about lotions alot and she actually found this, sampled it and LIKED it! Some wife in Hong Kong got a very nice gift last nite!
Sadie is trying to be sick - it started on the long flight so it isn't from food here or anything. They are all up having breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and hopefully that, along with sleep, will improve her yucky feelings.
Sophie wanted to try congee for breakfast - she has known she had it alot as a baby in Vietnam. They told us how much she liked it when we adopted her - so in our hotel room after adopting her we ordered some from room service - along with a ham sandwich and fries for Sadie...Sophie pushed that congee away and started diving right in to those fries! But this morning as she tried it she said "hmmm...no wonder I liked it - it's GOOD"!!!
Martha - Sophie is having the shoe/socks issues and I am trying my best!
There is a fruit here we LOVE - we think the American word is Dragon fruit - but they say something like bluroon....but it's really good - it's white with dark dots on it.
I will post again at our next hotel - hopefully post pics. The plane landing in Hong Kong was awful!! The tv projectors and other things came falling out of the ceiling as he thudded on to the runway! We didn't enjoy that too much.....got a couple pics of it and it is hilarious to see!
We hop on a plane in a couple hours and off to Danang - we are hoping for a relaxing day. More later - take care!

Glad to hear you all made it to Vietnam safely. Sorry to hear about the medication snafu. Our son has asthma and his meds are one thing we will not be able to forget when we head to Vietnam to get Sarah. He is notorious for forgetting his inhaler. ;-) Have a great time. Can't wait to see some photos.
Traveling always is an adventure! That landing doesn't sound like too much fun. I hope Sophie doesn't get another bleed--and I hope Sadie is feeling better too!
